Hello my loves, welcome back to From Nicole Friday’s! For those of you who do keep up with my weekly blog posts, I’m sorry I haven’t posted anything in the last 2 weeks. It wasn’t intentional, it just has been really crazy these past few weeks between trying to create content, being a full time mom, daughter, and girlfriend on top of me and CJ both getting seasonal colds from doing too damn much. Not to be dramatic, but your girl was dead.
Life really comes at you fast sometimes, you know what I mean? Luckily, throughout the chaos, I managed to make time for what means most to me and surrounded myself with loved ones. It’s super important to find that middle ground when everything around you becomes overwhelming.
The Sneak Peak.
If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve probably seen that me and my best friend, Kailen, had recently thrown the cutest date night in my yard. If you haven’t, that’s okay too. I created a Reels that you can watch below with a cute recap of the experience and how the night went. 😊
I wanted to come on here and review our recent Hibachi date night since so many of you asked me questions about it on Instagram. Overall, It was an amazing experience and such an achievable idea if you’re looking to celebrate something special, or even just have a fun get together with friends and fam in the comfort of your own space.
Kailen and I booked Chef Soysauce (@hibachi2u_ on Instagram) some time back in July. We had seen the idea from another friend and just figured it would be so much fun. Being that I already have the backyard for it, we figured it was a perfect opportunity to have a date night. We had more than enough time to pull it off!
Life post-covid hasn’t quite been the same and it’s really taken a toll on a lot of people’s mental and physical health, friendships, and relationships. With people getting back to work, and schedules out of whack, it’s been tough finding time to spend with the people you love. So, this one day was so important for not just me, but everyone included, to unwind from the madness and just cherish that special time together.
The best part about it was obviously the food, though! I mean, when I tell you he hooked it upppp, I was full for two days off that fried rice and Sake. I could go for another round just thinking about it as I write this, so clearly the food was bomb!
Would you believe me if…
If I told you it was my my first time even having real Hibachi food, would you believe me?
Obviously, not counting that sketchy B-rated place in the mall. I’m not even going to say it’s name. Y’all know which one I’m talking about. Don’t judge me, okay? Yes, I’ve been living under a rock, but I’ve been enlightened!
When me and Kailen decided to commit to doing this, two months in advance, we wanted to keep it a secret from our boyfriends and totally catch them off guard because that’s so much more fun, right? Plus, they both work so hard at making us happy, and always planning the cutest dates for us, and just being so thoughtful. It was only right we gave them some King treatment, as deserved.
But girl, two months is a LONG time to keep such an exciting secret, and I was itching to give hints but I didn’t want to be the one to ruin it. Ty kept asking me a million questions trying to figure out what I was up to, but I didn’t budge. And Kailen didn’t blab to Noel until the day of, so I’d say we did pretty good!
Thank you, I’m proud of us too. 👏🏼
It was also supposed to be super special because Kailen’s dad and his beautiful & super sweet girlfriend, Judith, joined us for the evening. Any time I’ve ever been around them, it’s always such a good vibe. It turned out better than any of us could’ve expected, actually.
We laughed and played games the entire night, from Cards Against Humanity to Uno, until it was too dark out to even see the cards in our hands. I will definitely say it was one for the books. Everyone was so happy, and so full, it was definitely money well spent and weeks of planning paid off.
The Juicy Details.
The chef came fully equipped with everything we needed for the event as far as food goes, and more sake you’ll ever need in a lifetime. *Decorations, drinks and tableware not included* Hibachi 2 U offers a full menu where you can choose 2 or more options for your course, with a side salad, fried rice, and fried vegetables included. We had the chicken, steak and shrimp, and whewwww! My mouth is watering up just thinking about it.
I loved that he was so interactive with the group, and making us all laugh the entire time. He was flinging vegetables at us to try and catch in our mouths. Fair warning, if you’re late he might even throw extra veggies at you, or soak you with sake so be aware. He even asked for volunteers to go up and learn tricks with the spatula and do hilarious attempts of catching an egg in the hat. You can only imagine how entertaining it would be with your friend group!
This was the main question everyone wanted to know, as expected. The price definitely ranges per party depending on the food options you choose, and the headcount, but it’s $50 per person not including tip. You can find more details below on how to book the experience!
